Preparing Your Workplace for Pandemic Flu

As mentioned in October 1, 2009 Plain Dealer and posted at

"…Business Emergency Planning Institute [is] helping businesses understand what to do to get through the flu season."

The H1N1 virus (swine flu) may be dormant shortly, but it is expected to wreak even havoc on businesses and organizations. While most organizations say they expect a pandemic flu to hit, two-thirds are not prepared.

This 60-minute seminar was developed by the American Red Cross thanks to a grant by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration. It is presented by Business Emergency Planning Institute instructors.

In this practical presentation, you will learn:

  • What to expect during a flu pandemic
  • The differences between seasonal flu and pandemic flu
  • How the influenza virus spreads
  • Steps to reduce the spread of flu in the workplace
  • Questions to ask about workplace policies, practices and protocols related to the potential and impact of a flu pandemic

The seminar is free for members and costs a nominal fee for non-members to cover expenses.
